– Written by Vernon Cross, Lee Cross’ Dad
Lee Cross, widely known on the internet as” Wood Splitter Lee” grew up in rural Alaska where she developed a love for wildlife. At a young age Lee showed a well above average skill in self taught art and creativity. She could paint, sculpt, and create things out of virtually nothing. She wrote and published a fantasy novel and a children’s book. She seemed to settle in on sculpting with clay and her skill grew rapidly. In the year 2004 at age 13, she was winning art shows and selling her work against seasoned adult artists. She began her professional sculpting career at age 13 as well, when she started doing commissioned sculptures of people’s pets, dogs, cats, and horses.
Lee went on to develop new species of fantasy animals as well as real looking baby animals, called “poseables”. She then auctioned them off through her unique phrase “Auction Adoptions,” through eBay and her website for many years. Her work is now available exclusively right here on the Official Adoption Website as “buy now” works as well as commission orders.
Each creation is 100% handmade by Lee Cross. They are fully poseable and realistically weighted (for a life-like sensation when held). Each work of art is the only one like it in the world and high quality fake fur is used in all her work.
Contact Lee if you would be interested in a special order commission. You get to choose the colors, size, animal or have your pet made as a life-like replica and get on the list!
Lee Cross has held show presentations in Seoul, South Korea, and has twice worked on personal projects in the film company Weta Workshop in New Zealand. She garnered the name “Wood Splitter Lee” through her uncanny ability to split fire wood logs with an 8 pound maul with her Dad. She can sometimes be spotted at comic con events showcasing her original, life sized, moving dragon puppets that have garnered millions of views online as well as having a huge following.
With thousands of unique creations, Lee Cross is now married, happily living in Idaho and continues to reimagine, design, and bring to life creatures that captivate and inspire many.

She tried to keep up but it was too much of a workload and she had to stop the commissions.
“I felt overwhelmed and wanted to be able to feel free to create things that inspire me and let me grow.”
To free her creative potential, Lee decided to only create what inspired her. She went on to develop new species of fantasy as well as real baby animals, called “poseables”, then auction them off through her unique phrase, “Auction Adoptions”, through eBay.
These creations are each one of a kind, and available through weekly Auction Adoptions. The reaction was phenomenal. All of her work starts at a $15.00 opening bid and the worldwide bidding sometimes goes into the thousands of dollars for some of her creations.

After many years of no commissions, Lee has recently started to take on a few commissioned works again within the realm of what she creates but still wants to have time for her own creations. Special orders may be somewhat limited at times depending on workload. Contact Lee if you would be interested in a special order commission and get on the list.
